I'm alive though!

Awakening
We were at The Lodge this weekend with friends.
Peanut, now 12, stood in front of me as we waited for a water slide and I lost my breath! There stood my baby. My precious little girl - in a bikini. A beautiful white polka dot bikini. She looked stunning. A figure that somehow I have been blind to. Beautiful skin! Uh.
How could that happen? My precious little one.
Punky, I know. Her blue eyes shining- hair on top of her head- flowing blond- but Peanut... where did she go?
I was lucky enough to have been with my girls since they were born, but lately - obviously, not seeing them as they stand right in front of me.
Is this so? Is this how it happens?
Last night we cuddled in our bed playing games- my baby once again.
Punky,at the door, home from the gym. Beautiful and glowing.
Just the way it should be.

The Scars of Life
This will apply to each of us differently-
Some years ago, on a hot summer day in south Florida , a little boy decided to go for a swim in the old swimming hole behind his house. In a hurry to dive into the cool water, he ran out the back door, leaving behind shoes, socks, and shirt as he went.
He flew into the water, not realizing that as he swam toward the middle of the lake, an alligator was swimming toward the shore..
His father working in the yard saw the two as they got closer and closer together. In utter fear, he ran toward the water, yelling to his son as loudly as he could.
Hearing his voice, the little boy became alarmed and made a U-turn to swim to his father. It was too late. Just as he reached his father, the alligator reached him. From the dock, the father grabbed his little boy by the arms just as the alligator snatched his legs. That began an incredible tug-of-war between the two. The alligator was much stronger than the fa ther, but the father was much too passionate to let go. A farmer happened to drive by, heard his screams, raced from his truck, took aim and shot the alligator.
Remarkably, after weeks and weeks in the hospital, the little boy survived. His legs were extremely scarred by the vicious attack of the animal. And, on his arms, were deep scratches where his father's fingernails dug into his flesh in his effort to hang on to the son he loved.
The newspaper reporter who interviewed the boy after the trauma, asked if he would show him his scars. The boy lifted his pant legs. And then, with obvious pride, he said to the reporter, 'But look at my arms. I have great scars on my arms, too. I have them because my Dad wouldn't let go.'
You and I can identify with that little boy. We have scars, too. No, not from an alligator, but the scars of a painful past. Some of those scars are unsightly and have caused us deep regret. But, some wounds, my friend, are because God has refused to let go. In the midst of your struggle, He's been there holding on to you.

FPU - Update
I have had a bit of time to relax over my discomfort.
I want to explain that we LOVE Dave Ramsey!
We LOVE the program!
We have seen it work!
It has worked for us!
It is working for us!
And we know people who are FREE because of this lifestyle. Alleluia!
It is our instructor that I am uncomfortable with.
And "yes" I have confronted him, at his asking, in front of the entire class.
He told our class where you can get the lowest interest rate on a car loan in our town!
He spoke LAST NIGHT of how he bought a car on a credit card and then paid it off with stock, or something!
Hello! Are we understanding the Dave Ramsey program here!?
Are we listening to the same videos and reading the same books!?
Using the same budget!? Helloooooooooo!
Lance says I just need to "let it go".
But it makes me SO mad!
What a hypocrite!
I mean, I really liked this man!
Now I want to switch classes.
Not that that is an option-
But it makes me mad!
We will continue to follow the program and do what we KNOW is right-
BUT ooooooooo.....

Quick Blog
Financial Peace University is completely awesome!
The Gazelle Budget is more than we could have imagined!
And SO much fun!
We are still working on Baby Step 1, but it will be complete by mid-February, if not before!
Looking forward to the Debt-Snowball after that! (Not that we have a lot, but ANY debt stinks!)
OH! Our tax return!
I better get busy on that!
Rock on!

Hormonal Surge
Life has been a little rough for me lately.
There are always bumps and high spots, but when it comes to the people closest to me I tend to have thinner skin. (Sorry My Love)
It's funny (not really) because I can laugh and be bubbly and then I come crashing down; like a boulder down the side of a mountain! Watch out!
I'm bubbly today. Flat out HAPPY.
So what gives!?!
Alright gals, I am not comfortable with this, but I think I need hormone treatment.
Seriously! I missed a period (NO! THAT IS NOT POSSIBLE!) and for 2 days this week I was insanely moody!
Now? Fine. Like nothing happened!
I hate it!
So, girlfriend to girlfriend- What do I do now?
I'm only 30 something!!!

My Moment To Babble
I've been online this morning reading blogs. There are some of you that I miss very much. Tabba- someday I hope you return. You always radiated such a positive energy and I loved your Sunday Songs. You'll notice some of them on my playlist.
There is one friend I'll never give up on. (You know who you are.) I'll never understand why you wrote me off of your list of "friends". I hold you next to my heart and always will. I have to say, I'm so relieved when you give me a glimpse of your life now and pained at the same time (you know I watch your blog). There are people in your life (we've talked about them- I've watched it and lived it beside you) that will smile and tell you how happy they are for you, but then say nothing but negative things about you when you walk away. I hope you know that I am not one of those people and never have been. I love you. I will always love your children. I love that you have found happiness. I pray that you are living the life that you've longed for. I know that you have felt the feeling of "I want to share this with you so bad, but I can't! This is mine. This is ours! This is so special! If I let someone in, it may become tainted." I'm here when and if you are ever ready. I guess it's just been awhile since the feeling of "waiting" has left though and I'm glad for that. (You waited for "him" - I waited for "you" Not the same but so similar in so many ways.) We both moved on.
On a happier note!!!
My husband and I went to one of our favorite restaurants last night! The Red Ginger! It was fabulous! (One of our New Year's goals was to have 2 date nights per month. We have had SO much fun!)
OH! Have I mentioned that our little Punky has been asked to enroll in all Honors/ Advanced Placement courses for her Sophomore year and that our little Peanut did incredible at State cheerleading finals?!! That's right! Uh Huh! You go girls!!!
Like I said "My Moment To Babble"!
Have a great weekend!!!

Ametuers- Are We Sure?
Okay!
I (WE) are HUGE American Idol fans!
Last night we fell in love with Frankie Jordan and her sweet little family. (Not to mention that her husband is incredibly fine looking)
Regardless-
I am confused as to how she can be on American Idol, when she already has a recorded song - THAT she sang last night!
Go ahead! I know you don't believe it! I didn't either! Pull it up on your search engine. (I'll wait)There are other videos on You Tube as well. It's true. (Head hanging low)
How can this be? Tell me...

Revelations
A Kind Reminder For All Of Us Today:
When God leads you to the edge of the cliff, trust Him fully and let go. Only 1 of 2 things will happen; either He'll catch you when you fall or He'll teach you how to fly! (The power of one sentence!) God closes doors no man can open & God opens doors no man can close.
Have a blessed day and remember to be a blessing...

A Light-Hearted Poem
MICHIGAN POEM
Poet: Unknown (But Boy is This Cute)
It's winter in Michigan
And the gentle breezes blow
Seventy miles an hour
At twenty-five below.
Oh, how I love Michigan
When the snow's up to your butt
You take a breath of winter
And your nose gets frozen shut.
Yes, the weather here is wonderful
So I guess I'll hang around
I could never leave Michigan
'Cause I'm frozen to the ground!

Lost Opportunity
The air has been taken from my sails.
My shoulders cannot seem to stay back.
My head hangs low.
Tears pool in my eyes.
It is difficult to answer the phone.
A smile will not form.
"Another will come along."
"We'll work at it harder."
"Have you considered going back?"
With what time?
With what money?
Will it matter?
My shoulders cannot seem to stay back.
My head hangs low.
Tears pool in my eyes.
It is difficult to answer the phone.
A smile will not form.

Welcome 2009!
Happy New Year!
Happy New Year!
Happy New Year!
...and a great one it has been thus far!
We have a new "family" plan in place and lots of goals set!
We have signed up for Dave Ramsey's Financial Peace University! We have already read his books and pretty much follow the plan, but we are looking to fine tune and know this is it!
We have gone to our first church and plan on "trying" others, until we find one that we all like. The one we attended Sunday was simply beautiful! (Have I mentioned that we live in a GREAT city?!?)
The list continues on from there and we are all very excited about 2009!
Happy New Year! (I'm loving all of your blogs!)

Something To Ponder
Loneliness
by Rebecca Drollinger
It is cold today
Indeed the rain is falling and I am alone.
Thoughts of life and love,
meaningless to anyone but myself.
I am alone.
They watch me, their eyes not knowing,
knowing nothing of what they see.
I am but another creature, alone.
They scurry on the surface, unaware,
unaware of the life below
when you are alone.
Loneliness, not a burden nor a sorrow,
but a time of solace, of deepness
never to be shared, never to be understood.
They can never reach the place where I am
And I know I will never reach the place where they are.
I know I don't want to reach that place.
True happiness is here, unmisted.
Unmisted by smiles or laughter,
unmisted by the joys of company.
To find true happiness,
to know if one is truly happy,
he must be happy alone.
"He must be happy alone"
Really?

Sunday Morning
Good Morning/ Afternoon all!
I have had some time this morning to not only work on my playlist but also my blog this morning. I have to say that I'm pretty happy with the results.
Lance and the girls are all out of town for a short while and although this left me with a sense of complete loneliness this morning, I am proud to admit that, YES, I have taken some time to do the things that I enjoy and generally find to be a waste of time.
You will find my playlist now located in the right hand column. This is for you to enjoy. All you have to do is press the play arrow in the center of the blue box. I have set it up on shuffle, so each time you will have a new song to begin with. The little "pop-out" box will allow you to continue playing the music as you work around the house or even continue doing whatever you need to online. Just press "pop-out" and you're all set!
There is a variety of music styles posted, so maybe this is an opportunity to try something new, or listen to something old!
I'd really like you're input here. If there is something that you'd like me to add- just let me know!
Have a great one Folks and thank you for visiting!
